If you really want to get to know me, forget the formal introductions for a moment.

Forget the inspirational speaker.

Forget the woman behind the campaigns.

Forget the wheelchair.

Forget everything you may think you already know.

Today, I want you to meet Brittany — just Brittany.

The woman behind the story.

The woman behind the microphone.

The woman behind the social media posts.

The woman who laughs, cries, loves deeply, overthinks occasionally, drinks far too much coffee and can probably turn almost anything into a meaningful conversation.

So consider this your little “Get to Know Brittany” cheat sheet.

Because there is a lot more to me than meets the eye.

Let's Start With the Important Things

I’m actually a very simple person.

I don’t party.

I don’t drink.

And I am definitely a homebody.

Give me a cosy evening at home, surrounded by my family, watching a good movie, and I’m perfectly happy.

I don’t need a crowded nightclub or a wild night out to have fun.

Honestly, I’d probably rather be comfortable at home.

That’s just me.

I’m someone who finds happiness in the ordinary things.

And speaking of ordinary things…

I Could Probably Eat Spaghetti Forever

If there is spaghetti involved, I’m interested.

I absolutely love anything to do with spaghetti, and it is one of those meals I could happily eat again and again.

And then we get to my weakness:

Sweet things.

Fruit.

Fruit rolls.

Chocolate chips.

Desserts.

Anything remotely sweet.

Let’s just say my sweet tooth is very much alive and well.

My mom and dad could probably confirm that one.

And if there happens to be chocolate in the house, let’s just say it may not be there for very long.

The Simple Things Make Me Happy

I’m not someone who needs a complicated life to be happy.

Give me my skincare, a cup of coffee and some quiet time, and I’m content.

There is something about those little everyday rituals that I genuinely love.

Doing my skincare.

Making my coffee.

Getting comfortable.

Putting on YouTube.

Scrolling through social media.

Watching a movie.

Spending time with the people I love.

These things might seem small, but I’ve learned that sometimes the smallest things bring the greatest joy.

We spend so much of life waiting for the big moments that we sometimes forget to enjoy the little ones happening right in front of us.

I’m learning to appreciate both.

I’m learning to appreciate both.

Yes, I Love Makeup Too

If you ever catch me scrolling through social media, there is a very good chance I’m watching a makeup tutorial.

I love seeing different makeup looks and learning little tricks.

I enjoy discovering how people do things and finding simple ways to recreate them.

But I’m also practical.

I don’t need fifty different products sitting on my bathroom counter.

Give me the basics.

Show me what to do.

Let me practise.

Eventually, I’ll figure it out.

Probably.

Maybe.

But skincare?

That’s another story.

I genuinely enjoy learning about skincare products, routines and different ways of looking after my skin.

For me, it isn’t about having the most complicated routine.

It’s about taking a few minutes to look after myself.

Sometimes self-care doesn’t need to be extravagant.

Sometimes it’s simply washing your face, putting on your skincare, making a coffee and taking a breath.

I Have a Slight YouTube Habit

I really do love YouTube.

I can happily disappear down a YouTube rabbit hole for an embarrassing amount of time.

One minute I’m watching something I intentionally searched for.

The next minute I’m watching a completely unrelated video about something I didn’t even know existed.

But that’s part of what I love.

I love learning.

I love discovering new things.

I love hearing people’s stories.

I love fun facts.

Tell me something interesting about your childhood, your life or something you’ve experienced, and there is a very good chance I’m going to ask you twenty questions.

Because I genuinely enjoy getting to know people.

I want to know what shaped you.

What made you laugh growing up.

What you loved as a child.

What your family was like.

What makes you who you are today.

People are fascinating.

And I love their stories.

I Am the Person Who Randomly Calls to Say “I Love You”

If you know me well, you probably already know this.

I will randomly call you during the day just to check in.

There doesn’t always have to be a reason.

Sometimes the entire conversation will be:

“Hi. I love you. I just wanted to check that you’re okay. Bye.”

And that’s it.

Conversation over.

My family will probably tell you that this is very much a Brittany thing.

But I believe those little check-ins matter.

Life gets busy.

People get distracted.

We assume the people we love know that we love them.

But sometimes, I think it’s important to actually say it.

So if you get a random phone call from me one day simply because I wanted to tell you I love you…

Now you know why.

Coffee Deserves Its Own Section

I feel like coffee deserves a paragraph of its own.

There is something about sitting down with a good cup of coffee that makes an ordinary moment feel a little more special.

Coffee while doing my skincare.

Coffee while watching YouTube.

Coffee while scrolling through social media.

Coffee while having a conversation.

Coffee while doing absolutely nothing.

I’m not asking for much.

Just give me a quiet moment and a good cup of coffee.

Sometimes that’s enough.

I'm Actually a Massive Softie

This may surprise some people because I can come across as strong and determined.

But underneath all of that?

I’m a big softie.

Give me flowers unexpectedly and there is a very good chance I’ll get emotional.

Give me a thoughtful gift that I wasn’t expecting, and you’ve probably just made my entire day.

But here’s the thing.

It isn’t about the price.

It isn’t about how extravagant something is.

It’s the thought.

Knowing that someone remembered something I said.

Knowing that someone thought about me.

Knowing that someone wanted to make me smile.

That means everything to me.

A handwritten note can mean more to me than an expensive present.

A surprise coffee can make my day.

A simple “I was thinking about you” can stay with me for weeks.

Because to me, thoughtfulness is one of the most beautiful forms of love.

I Give My Heart Deeply

This is probably one of the biggest things you should know about me.

I care deeply.

I love deeply.

I feel deeply.

When I let people into my heart, I don’t do it halfway.

I try to see the best in people, even when they struggle to see it in themselves.

I believe in giving grace.

I believe in forgiveness.

I believe in showing up for people.

But I’ve also learned some difficult lessons along the way.

Having a big heart doesn’t mean you should allow people to continually hurt you.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean having no boundaries.

Loving someone doesn’t mean forgetting your own worth.

And being kind doesn’t mean being weak.

I’m still learning all of these things.

But one thing I never want to lose is my ability to love.

I don’t want disappointment to make me bitter.

I don’t want heartbreak to make me cold.

I don’t want difficult experiences to change the softness in my heart.

I still want to be someone who makes people feel seen.

Someone who makes people feel valued.

Someone who reminds others that they matter.

But Above Everything Else: Jesus

If you really want to understand me, this is probably the most important thing you need to know.

I absolutely love Jesus.

My faith isn’t simply something I talk about.

It is something I want to live.

I am not perfect.

I make mistakes.

I get frustrated.

I have emotional days.

I have moments when I question things.

There are times when I don’t understand what God is doing.

But I keep coming back to Him.

Again and again.

My relationship with Jesus is where I find my hope, my strength and my reason to keep going.

I don’t want people to look at my life and see perfection.

I want them to see Jesus.

I want the way I love people to reflect Him.

I want the way I forgive to reflect Him.

I want the way I speak to people to reflect Him.

I want my life to point beyond me.

Because at the end of everything I do, my greatest desire isn’t simply to be successful.

It is to make a difference while honouring God with the life I’ve been given.

I'm Determined — But I'm Still Learning

I am a determined woman.

When I set my mind to something, I really want to make it happen.

I give my heart to the things I believe in.

I want to do my best.

But I’ve also had to learn that doing my best doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly.

Sometimes I need help.

Sometimes things take me longer.

Sometimes I need to try something several times before I get it right.

And that’s okay.

Taking longer doesn’t mean I’m incapable.

Needing help doesn’t mean I’m weak.

Doing something differently doesn’t mean I’m doing it wrong.

Different does not mean less.

That’s something I want other people to understand too.

Especially anyone who has ever felt like they don’t fit the world’s definition of what “capable” looks like.

Your journey doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

You simply have to keep moving forward in the way that is right for you.

And Then There's the Wheelchair

Yes, the wheelchair is part of my story.

But it isn’t the whole story.

Sometimes people see the wheelchair before they see Brittany.

I want to change that.

Because behind the wheelchair is a woman who loves her family.

A woman who loves spaghetti.

A woman with an enormous sweet tooth.

A woman who loves skincare and makeup.

A woman who drinks coffee.

A woman who watches far too much YouTube.

A woman who loves learning.

A woman who loves fun facts.

A woman who randomly calls people just to say, “I love you.”

A woman who gets emotional over flowers.

A woman who believes thoughtful gestures mean everything.

A woman who loves deeply.

A woman who dreams.

A woman who sometimes struggles.

A woman who laughs.

A woman who cries.

A woman who is still learning.

A woman who is still growing.

A woman who is still becoming.

And yes, a woman who happens to use a wheelchair.

So, Who Is Brittany?

I suppose the easiest answer is this:

I’m a woman who believes that life is about more than what people can see.

I may do some things slowly.

I may need help sometimes.

I may have limitations.

But I also have dreams.

I have goals.

I have a voice.

I have a purpose.

I have a story worth telling.

And I have a God who I believe is still writing that story.

I’m not perfect.

I don’t have everything figured out.

I’m not always confident.

I’m not always strong.

And I certainly don’t always have the answers.

But I will keep trying.

I will keep learning.

I will keep loving.

I will keep dreaming.

I will keep growing.

And I will keep becoming the woman God created me to be.

So, there you have it.

The real me.

Unfiltered Brittany.

The woman behind the wheelchair.

The woman behind the microphone.

The woman behind the campaigns.

The woman behind the words.

Not perfect.

Not always fast.

Not always certain.

But deeply passionate, deeply loving, fiercely determined and completely committed to living a life that matters.

And if you remember just one thing about me, let it be this:

I want to love deeply, live fully, appreciate the little things, never stop growing, and let Jesus shine through my life.

Because perhaps the most beautiful thing about getting to know someone isn’t discovering what makes them impressive.

It’s discovering what makes them human.

And that is Brittany.
